Terms of Service

Effective: August 2026 Governed by the Laws of Ontario

Welcome to TilTop Roofers Inc. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (tiltop.ca), online calculation tools, and any roofing, siding, eavestrough, or attic services provided across the Greater Toronto Area. By browsing our website or signing an agreement with TilTop, you agree to these Terms.

1. Written Estimates & Quotations

Digital estimates provided via our website calculator are preliminary approximations based on satellite measurements and user-supplied data. All binding proposals require an official written TilTop Scope of Work signed by both parties. Formal written quotes remain valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue.

2. Site Preparation & Access

The client agrees to provide TilTop crews with safe and unobstructed access to the property:

  • Driveways must be cleared of vehicles, bicycles, and outdoor equipment to accommodate delivery trucks and disposal bins.
  • Children and domestic pets must remain indoors while roof tear-off and nail operations are actively underway.
  • Exterior electrical outlets and water spigots must be operational for crew power and cleanup.
  • Homeowners are advised to remove fragile wall hangings and light fixtures directly below the roof deck due to natural roof vibrations during installation.

3. Weather & Safety Scheduling

Roofing is strictly outdoor construction. TilTop reserves the right to postpone or pause installation in the event of rain, lightning, extreme sub-zero temperatures, or excessive wind gusts exceeding safety thresholds. Weather delays do not constitute breach of contract; work resumes immediately upon safe conditions.

4. Unforeseen Decking & Structural Repairs

Until old shingles are stripped away, existing plywood sheathing rot, insect infestation, or structural truss deflection cannot always be detected. If rotten wood or compromised rafters are uncovered, TilTop will document the condition with photos and present a written change order at pre-agreed per-sheet rates before performing structural repairs.

5. Payment Terms & Construction Liens

Unless otherwise specified in writing, payment terms are strictly milestone-based. TilTop does not demand large upfront cash deposits for standard residential re-roofing. Final payment is due upon project completion, final magnetic sweep cleanup, and client walkthrough. All contracts comply with the Ontario Construction Act.

6. Workmanship Warranty & Liability Limits

All complete roof installations are backed by our signature 15-Year Workmanship Warranty. Our liability is limited to the repair or replacement of defective workmanship. TilTop is fully protected with $5,000,000 commercial general liability insurance and full WSIB workplace coverage.

7. Governing Law

These Terms and any contractual disputes shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
